She asks me "Why is Paul Walker important." It was very strange to have a girl ask me something sort of car related. I responded "He inspired an entire generation of kids to become car guys." The same girl just asked me for some music she should try, I told her Black Keys and Raconteurs (she normally listens to One Direction).
Yeah not car related, just a new experience

Black Keys and Raconteurs are solid shit. My Pandora channel for them has got me to Cage the Elephant, White Stripes too... Good man

I listen to a lot of alternative stuff and they were the first bands that popped into my head that a music-novice might like. I figured I wouldn't pull out the Smallpools, Vampire Weekend, Arctic Monkeys, or Matt & Kim yet.

Did you then ask to put it in, but just the tip?

Good work on all accounts. And for the addition of a simple human answer...."he wasn't a D bag despite his success and didn't deserve to go out like that"

If you like Cage the Elephant you should perhaps take a look/listen to/at beasts of bourbon..

Alternative, eh? Do you listen to Billy Talent? You should.
They're popular all over the world, but far less so in the States it seems.
/just trying to spread the word

1D listener? "She's too young for you bro" mentally, at least

Black Keys and Raconteurs.
Good man :)
If she likes them I'd go for Wolfmother next.

Hey it could be worse. It could of been Bieber she listens to .......... ack! I just threw up a little writing that name.
Show her a film or two and she'll figure it out.

At least mentally.

Truth! I'm trying to get her to grow up musically.

I've had coworkers 5 years older than me that listen to them. What is wrong with the world we live in?

That's probably a good thing.

Either that or she listens to what other people listen because it's what other people listen. I had that happen once, this chick that I know knows all sorts of the shitty brazilian music played in clubs these days because that's what her friends enjoy.
What did she enjoy when she was by herself? Pearl Jam, mostly, along with folk rock of the Tom Petty kind, but she wouldn't talk about it because it isn't the kind of music that's popular around here.

Bowing to the lowest common denominator is always a great sign as well.

True, but most people I know these days are like that anyways... They have what I took to calling a Facebook personality, and an actual, real personality that they don't really show or they'll end up alone and with no friends, like me. The really sad part is that there are groups of friends formed around sertanejo music, for example, when not a single one of them actually enjoys that kind of music. They just say they do because everyone else says that.
Seriously, I'm not the talkative type, but for some reason people seem to always open up with me, and that's by far the most common thing they'll tell me.

Eh, I guess I've just never been that type. I'd rather have a few close friends than lots that I can only trust as far as I can throw them.

I'm the same, actually... I hardly consider myself to be friends with anyone I know and, honestly, I think I place more trust in Oppo than I do in the people that study and work with me, with a few exceptions.

A lot of people suck, I don't blame you for being that way.

Well, it's not that bad, it's not like I couldn't relate to them, I just keep in mind they're not really reliable, even though they will often ask me for help. I'm more that kind of relaxed guy that's friendly with everybody, except when they're in groups, but I've always been like that, so I've gotten used to it by now.
The only thing that kind of bothers me is that I really like having this girl I mentioned around, it's great to talk to her when she's being sincere, but there isn't any chance of going any further than the occasional chat when her usual group isn't around.
